5 Great Apps
Most of these favourite apps were recommended by friends, satisfied users, or successful people that listed them. Sharing is caring, and I want you to be successful in your daily endeavours!
Be inspired. Enjoy!
1. THINKUP
Positive Affirmations. Repetition helps. This is what this app is about. Affirmations are a great way to re-program yourself. As energy follows thoughts, our thoughts and our beliefs create our reality. Affirmations are a means to replace (unconscious) limiting beliefs. As these are deeply programmed, affirmations only work when they are repeated over and over again. And all this works even better if you listen to your own voice, eventually with your preferred music in the background. Of course, you can record whatever you want, like your preferred meditations, prayers, mantras, etc.

2. AUDIBLE
“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body”.
Although I prefer reading physical books, I sometimes prefer ‘listening’ to books, especially when the author is also the narrator. Listening to an inspiring book can be a great companion when hiking, while travelling or just when on the move. The app offers great functionality; you can arrange the speed, make notes, share passages, etc.
Audible is linked to Amazon and contains an immense library of narrated books. In fact, more and more top-selling authors nowadays launch their printed books simultaneously in an Audible version.
3. BLINKIST
“Understand books & podcasts in 15 minutes.”
Sometimes, I only want to know the key messages of (nonfiction) books that caught my attention. Blinkist offers very good summaries of the most inspiring top nonfiction books.
Reading them takes only 15 minutes, and you can also listen to the insights.
You can copy or share quotes or whatever content you want to keep on top of your mind. A great app if you want to stay up-to-date in various areas of interest.
More than 25 Mio people are already using the app.
4. SNAPSEED
The lockdown brought me a new hobby: amateur photography using a simple iPhone 6s Plus. I started posting photo’s on Instagram and Facebook as they were, but I soon wanted to optimise them by doing some basic editing.
Specialised sites recommend Snapseed (from Google) as the most complete and best free photo editing app. It’s very intuïtive, you can immediately compare the changes with the last version, and it offers an impressive toolbox and functionalities. There are different YouTube tutorials that I advise you to watch to maximise the possibilities of Snapseed.
5. OTTER.AI
“AI” stands for Artificial Intelligence, and Otter.AI is an example of how AI can assist you in daily life. I got really excited when a friend recommended this professional (free) “speech-to-text“ app.
You can generate rich notes for meetings, interviews, lectures, and other important voice conversations with Otter, but also get transcripts from, e.g. YouTube or other movies. And, of course, you can speak in your own notes, ideas, or musings and get an automatic text. This a great feature for writers, authors or anyone who wants to take some notes while on the road quickly.
There’s also a desktop version with large functionality, such as recording and reviewing in real-time, searching, playing, editing, organising, and sharing your conversations from any device. At this time, it only recognises English.
